While we benefit from the strength and support of a global organisation, we proudly maintain the entrepreneurial spirit, agility and close-knit culture that has defined Yumi's from the beginning.We're now looking for an experienced Food Safety Lead to join our Technical team at our Hallam manufacturing site.About the RoleThis is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the practical application, maintenance and continuous improvement of Yumi's food safety programmes.
As our Food Safety Lead, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our products, processes and site controls protect consumers, meet regulatory and customer expectations, and support operational excellence across the business.Reporting to the Head of Technical, you'll partner closely with Operations, Quality, NPD, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to drive food safety standards, influence best practice and embed a strong food safety culture across the site.Key ResponsibilitiesFood Safety Program LeadershipLead HACCP program maintenance, review and implementation across site processesDrive food safety standards and ensure practical application of controls throughout manufacturing operationsProvide technical leadership on food safety investigations,



corrective actions and verification activitiesSupport continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen food safety performance and complianceOwn process and product qualification activitiesCoordinate cleaning validation and verification programsSupport food safety risk assessments and control measures across the siteEnsure food safety controls are effectively incorporated into new products and process changesSite Standards & ComplianceMaintain and improve hygiene, zoning, allergen and microbiological monitoring programsOversee physical contamination controls, pest management and GMP standardsCoordinate internal food safety and GMP auditsSupport compliance with regulatory, customer and internal requirementsSupport the approved supplier program and food safety risk assessmentsWork collaboratively across Operations, Technical, Engineering, NPD and Supply Chain teamsEngage with laboratories, auditors, service providers and suppliers where requiredCoach and support stakeholders to strengthen food safety capability and behaviours across the businessAbout YouYou are a food safety professional who combines strong technical expertise with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
You're confident influencing on the factory floor, challenging respectfully when needed, and bringing others on the journey to improve standards and outcomes.To be successful,



you'll bring:Experience leading food safety programs within food manufacturing or a similar FMCG environmentStrong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, allergen management, validation, hygiene controls and microbiological monitoringExperience supporting audits, corrective action programs and continuous improvement initiativesAbility to translate technical requirements into practical operating standardsStrong communication and stakeholder management skills across operational and technical teamsA collaborative, evidence-based and commercially aware approach to problem-solvingHighly RegardedExperience within chilled, ready-to-eat, dips or high-care food manufacturing environmentsExposure to retailer, customer, GFSI or external certification auditsExperience with supplier approval, pest control, shelf-life validation or cleaning validation programsWhy Join Yumi's?
