Up In Smoke Fire Services Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced, reliable and motivated Fire Technician to join our team in Port Hedland, Western Australia.This is a full-time position working across a diverse range of fire protection equipment and systems throughout Port Hedland and the wider Pilbara region.Duties may include:Inspection, testing, servicing and maintenance of fire protection equipmentPortable fire extinguishers and fire blanketsFire hose reels and hydrant systemsEmergency and exit lightingFire detection and alarm systemsFire sprinkler systemsFire pumps and associated equipmentMobile plant fire suppression systemsUnderground fire service pipework, fault finding and repairsRepairs and replacement of underground fire mains and associated componentsFault finding, repairs and rectification worksInstallation of fire protection equipment and systemsCompletion of service reports, asset registers and compliance documentationWorking across commercial, industrial and mining-related sites throughout the PilbaraWe are ideally looking for someone who is willing to relocate to Port Hedland and become a long-term member of our team.

We service a broad range of commercial, industrial and mining clients throughout the Pilbara and pride ourselves on providing professional, reliable and high-quality fire protection services.Job RequirementsThe successful applicant will ideally have:Previous experience within the fire protection industryExperience inspecting, testing, servicing and maintaining fire protection equipment and systemsExperience with underground fire services,



pipework repairs and fault finding would be highly regardedRelevant fire protection qualifications and/or licencesA current Australian driver's licenceThe ability to work independently and as part of a small teamStrong fault-finding and problem-solving skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to accurately complete service reports and compliance documentationA professional approach when dealing with clientsA strong commitment to quality workmanshipGood time management and organisational skillsReliability, punctuality and initiativeA willingness to undertake additional training and qualifications where requiredThe ability to work safely across commercial, industrial and mining environmentsNot qualified or experienced in every area listed?
We are willing to provide additional training and qualifications for the right applicant.
We are looking for someone with solid fire industry experience, a good work ethic and a willingness to learn and expand their capabilities.Residential applicants willing to relocate to Port Hedland are preferred, with donga accommodation provided.
FIFO arrangements may also be considered for the right applicant.The successful applicant will ideally have previous experience within the fire protection industry and hold relevant fire protection qualifications.Qualifications & ExperienceEssential / Preferred:CPP***** Certificate II in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing, or equivalent/superseded qualification and relevant industry experienceCurrent Australian driver's licenceConstruction Industry White CardPrevious experience inspecting, testing, servicing and maintaining fire protection equipment and systemsSound knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and fire protection servicing requirementsAbility to accurately complete service reports,



inspection records and compliance documentationAbility to work independently and as part of a small teamStrong fault-finding and problem-solving skillsCommitment to safe work practices and quality workmanshipHighly Regarded:CPP***** Certificate III in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing, or equivalentCPC***** Certificate III in Fire Protection (Fire Sprinkler Fitter), or equivalent trade qualificationExperience with fire sprinkler systemsExperience inspecting and testing fire pumpsetsExperience with hydrant and hose reel systems, including flow and pressure testingExperience with emergency and exit lightingExperience with fire detection and alarm systemsExperience with mobile plant/pre-engineered fire suppression systemsExperience with installation, servicing and repairs of fire suppression systemsExperience with underground fire mains, underground pipework, fault finding and repairsExperience carrying out repairs and replacement of underground fire service componentsExperience with five-yearly testing and other major fire system servicingRelevant High Risk Work Licences, EWP, Working at Heights, Confined Space or other site-based qualificationsCurrent First Aid/CPRRelevant electrical or plumbing licences where required for the work being undertakenDon't Have Every Qualification?
We understand that experienced Fire Technicians may specialise in different areas of the industry.Applicants are not required to already hold every qualification or competency listed above.For the right person, Up In Smoke Fire Services is willing to provide and pay for additional training and qualifications required to expand their capabilities across the services we provide.We are looking for someone with solid industry experience, a strong work ethic, reliability, initiative and a willingness to continue learning.Residential / FIFOOur preference is for the successful applicant to relocate to Port Hedland and reside locally, with company-provided donga accommodation available as part of the employment package.However, we are also willing to consider a FIFO arrangement for the right applicant.The successful applicant will also be provided with a company vehicle donga accommodation and company phone.
