This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
The EHS Officer will work closely with management, employees, and external agencies to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.Key Accountabilities:Regulatory Compliance & AuditsEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulationsKeep up-to-date with changes in legislation and update company policies and procedures accordinglyPrepare and submit required reports to regulatory agenciesLiase with State and Federal EHS authorities to ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained and maintainedConduct internal EHS audits and lead external auditsEHS Programs & PoliciesDevelop, implement, and maintain site specific and corporate EHS programs and policiesRegularly review and update EHS policies to ensure they are current and effectiveProvide EHS guidance and support to management and employeesPromote the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)



and other safety measuresManage staff EHS complianceRisk Assessment & ManagementConduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety and environmental risks (including chemical and equipment risks)Manage SDS and associated risk assessment currencyDevelop and implement risk mitigation strategies and corrective actions.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk control measuresReview new products for environmental risks.Training and EducationDevelop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractors (including onboarding/inductions)Ensure staff awareness of health, safety and environmental responsibilitiesPromote a culture of safety through ongoing education and awareness initiativesIncident Investigation and ReportingLead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near-missesIdentify root causes and development corrective actions to prevent recurrenceMaintain accurate records of incidents and report findings to management and regulatory bodies as requiredImplement and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)Manage Event Tracking Systems (ETS) action completionEmergency Preparedness and ResponseDevelop and maintain emergency response plans and proceduresConduct regular emergency drills and training exercisesLead safety committee and site emergency planningEnsure regular inspection and maintenance of emergency equipmentEnvironmental ManagementMonitor and manage environmental impacts of company operationsDevelop and implement programs to reduce waste,



conserve resources and minimise environmental footprintConduct site reviews and ensure proper handling, storage and disposal of hazardous materialsCreate and maintain Environmental Aspects & Impacts RegisterContinuous ImprovementIdentify and lead EHS improvement opportunitiesStay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in EHS managementImplement and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to EHS performanceQualifications:Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences or related field or equivalent experience (required)Working at Heights (advantageous)Work Experience:Required Minimum 3 years' experience in an EHS or similar roleExperience in working with WorkSafe, EPA and water authorities.Advantageous Experience:Advantageous Experience in working in Defence and/or Manufacturing industryDangerous Goods Transport experienceHot Work experienceLock Tag Try experienceSuitability:Strong knowledge of Australian EHS regulations and standardsProficiency with MS Office Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint)Excellent oral and written communication, training and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesHigh level of motivation and willingness to learnEligibility:Must be an Australian Citizen and can obtain and maintain an Australian security clearanceMust satisfy police checks and employment screening verification including employment reference checksMust be able to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms Regulation (ITAR) which in some circumstances can place limitations on persons who hold dual nationality, permanent residency or are former nationals of
