The Opportunity
A highly regarded and growing mid-tier accounting and advisory firm is seeking an experienced Associate Director to join its Brisbane head office.
Working closely with the Managing Partner and Directors, this is a genuine senior leadership position offering exposure to large privately owned businesses, high-growth organisations and not-for-profit clients.
You will operate as a senior adviser and people leader, taking ownership of key client relationships while contributing to team development, strategic decision-making and the continued growth of the firm.
For someone with longer-term aspirations towards ownership, the role also provides a genuine pathway to future Partnership as you establish yourself within the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a diverse portfolio of business, private and not-for-profit clients
- Deliver high-level tax, structuring and business advisory services
- Work alongside the Managing Partner and Directors on high-level client matters
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of experienced accounting professionals
- Review work and maintain strong technical and quality standards
- Contribute to client strategy, workflow planning and team resourcing
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and support the firm's continued organic growth
Client Base & Team
The firm services a diverse and high-quality client base including SMEs, high-net-worth individuals, medical specialists, hospitality groups, construction companies, manufacturing and IT businesses, together with a significant portfolio of not-for-profit organisations.
A key strength of the firm is its long-standing client relationships, with many clients having been with the practice for decades and, in some cases, across multiple generations. This provides the opportunity to build on established relationships and work as a trusted adviser to clients who have a genuine long-term connection with the firm.
The portfolio includes large and sophisticated privately owned businesses with turnovers of up to $180 million, alongside a broad range of established and high-growth organisations.
You will be supported by a well-resourced, multi-level team, allowing you to focus your time on client relationships, advisory, review, leadership and higher-level strategic work.
About You
You will be a commercially minded and confident senior adviser who enjoys developing both clients and people.
Ideally, you will have:
- CA or CPA qualification
- Significant Australian public practice experience at Senior Manager or Associate Director level
- Strong technical expertise across Tax & Business Services
- Experience managing large, multi-entity client groups and high-level client relationships
- Proven leadership, mentoring and team development capability
- Strong commercial acumen and advisory skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-management skills
- An interest in contributing to the long-term growth and leadership of the firm
