Client Service Administrator – Public Practice Accounting
Melbourne CBD | ASAP Start | $80,000 – $90,000 package including super
Are you an experienced Client Service Administrator with a background in public practice accounting?
We are currently recruiting for a fantastic opportunity with a professional services organisation based in Melbourne CBD. This is a varied client-facing administration role where you’ll work closely with accountants and clients to ensure the smooth delivery of accounting and compliance services.
About the Role
As a Client Service Administrator, you will be responsible for a range of client administration and compliance activities, including:
- Preparing job packs for financial statements, income tax returns and activity statements
- Following up signed documents and ensuring deadlines are met
- Drafting engagement letters and client correspondence
- Managing client onboarding, offboarding and maintaining client databases
- Preparing and sending client invoices
- Assisting with tax and activity statement lodgements
- Monitoring key deadlines and coordinating follow-ups
- Liaising with the ATO regarding lodgement deferrals, payment arrangements and penalties
- Establishing new companies and trusts, including ABN, TFN, GST and PAYG registrations
- Completing ASIC and corporate secretarial administration
- Preparing ASIC annual reviews and monitoring due dates
- Providing reception and front-of-house support when required
- Contributing to process improvements,
training resources and team development
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience working in a public practice accounting firm – essential
- Strong client service and administration experience
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero or MYOB
- Experience using ATO and ABR portals
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach
- Confidence liaising with clients and internal stakeholders
- A genuine interest in continuous improvement and developing your knowledge
Experience with XPM, ATO Mate and/or NowInfinity will be highly regarded.
