Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Consumer Manager to join the Mental Health team.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our six main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

About the Role:

As the Consumer Lived Experience Manager, you will provide leadership and professional support to Northern Health’s Consumer Lived Experience workforce across our bed-based Mental Health services.

You will champion the consumer voice and ensure lived experience perspectives are embedded in the design, delivery and evaluation of services.

Working closely with clinical and program leaders, you will lead workforce development, professional supervision, co-design initiatives and best-practice peer support, while contributing to quality improvement and recruitment of Consumer Lived Experience roles.

To be successful in this role you will have:





- Minimum of 4 years working within a designated Consumer lived experience role in a public area mental health service or organisation;
- Experience in a previous Senior/Lead Consumer Lived Experience role;
- Prior experience in a Consumer Peer Support Role;
- Experience in mentoring, supervising and supporting other staff;
- Strong communication skills and high levels of personal resilience including the ability to manage workforce challenges.
