DRT is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Truck Driver to join their transport team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of fresh produce and related commodities, ensuring products are delivered on time and in excellent condition.
This role requires a professional driver who understands the importance of handling time-sensitive freight, complying with transport regulations, maintaining vehicle standards, and providing exceptional customer service.

The annual salary for this full-time position is $80,000 to $85,000.
Responsibilities include:
- Safely operate heavy vehicles to transport fresh produce and related agricultural commodities to customers and distribution locations.
- Conduct pre-start, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with safety requirements.
- Load, transport, and unload freight while ensuring products are secured and protected from damage during transit.
- Maintain delivery schedules and ensure timely, accurate, and efficient freight movements.
- Complete delivery documentation, logbooks, and transport records accurately and on time.
- Comply with all road transport legislation, fatigue management requirements, Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations, and company policies.
- Monitor the condition of freight throughout transport and promptly report any issues or incidents.
- Maintain a high standard of vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance requirements as required.
- Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, dispatch personnel, and the Management.
- Contribute to a safe, efficient, and customer-focused transport operation.
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid Heavy Rigid (HR), Heavy Combination (HC), or Multi Combination (MC) Driver's License.
- Should have a minimum of one to three (1-3) years of experience operating heavy vehicles in a commercial transport environment.
- Experience transporting fresh produce, agricultural commodities, or general freight is highly regarded.
- Sound knowledge of road transport regulations, load restraint requirements, and safe driving practices.
- Demonstrated understanding of fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations.
- Ability to work independently, manage delivery schedules, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Positive organisational and time management abilities.
- Strong commitment to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS).
- Clean driving record preferred.
- Forklift licence is advantageous but not essential.
