St Mary's Cathedral College Sydney is seeking to appoint an experienced and passionate Primary Maths/Numeracy Teacher. This is a 0.5 FTE, temporary position, commencing Monday,



12 October 2026 until the end of Term 4.

About You

As a Primary Maths/Numeracy Teacher, you are committed to developing students' mathematical understanding, confidence, and problem-solving skills through high-quality, engaging and evidence-based teaching practices. You work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure every student achieves their full potential in Mathematics.

To excel in this role, you will be able to:

- create and implement engaging, rigorous and differentiated Mathematics and Numeracy learning experiences that cater to the diverse needs of students
- demonstrate sound knowledge of the K-6 Mathematics syllabus and contemporary, evidence-based approaches to teaching Numeracy
- utilise formative and summative assessment practices to monitor student progress and inform teaching and learning programs
- analyse student achievement data to identify learning needs, set challenging goals, and provide targeted feedback to maximise growth
- foster positive attitudes towards Mathematics by developing students' confidence, curiosity and mathematical thinking
- work collaboratively with classroom teachers to support whole-school Numeracy initiatives and improve student outcomes




- support the inclusive Catholic religious and cultural setting for students
- demonstrate excellent classroom management skills focused on student wellbeing and engagement
- effectively integrate technology and digital resources to enhance Mathematics teaching and learning
- provide evidence of a tertiary qualification in Education and NESA accreditation
- provide Religious Education qualifications or the willingness to achieve them as per Accreditation Policy to Work, Teach, and Lead.
