Lead delivery of complex, high-profile construction and infrastructure upgrades EWP, PDS, NPS & CFI ($2M-$200M+) for defence bases, as well as Defence-Adjacent Projects within the Henderson Precinct.

The Role

We are partnering with a national consultancy to find a State Project Lead – Defence Bases to lead teams delivering projects from $2M to over $200M, while setting strategic direction and ensuring all works align with contractual obligations and defence/federal government standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Drive business growth through monitoring Tenders (including AusTender) and leading Tender response.
- Lead Project Managers, consultants, and multidisciplinary advisory/delivery teams.
- Oversee project delivery, procurement, and alignment with corporate strategy.
- Build and maintain solid relationships with defence clients, government bodies including Defence West, and senior stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop consulting staff.
- Act as the primary in-state point of contact for Defence client and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements:





- 10+ years’ Defence Base sector experience in senior Project Management or Engineering consulting roles, with at least 5+ years leading Defence Base project delivery teams.
- 5+ years’ experience delivering defence base upgrades, infrastructure projects, or high-profile federal maritime site projects.
- Background in defence, government, infrastructure, or major capital projects, with an NV1 clearance.
- Proven experience managing multiple teams and engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical or Mechanical), Construction, or a related field, and/or formal PMP training.
