Western District Health Service is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Registered Nurses, with a particular interest in hearing from nurses currently working within our aged care services or the broader aged care sector.
This is an exciting opportunity to use your clinical knowledge, leadership skills and passion for aged care to support Graduate Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses as they transition into confident and capable practitioners.

About the Role
As the Clinical Support Nurse (Aged Care), you will play an important role in supporting graduate nurses and strengthening workforce capability across our aged care services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct clinical support, guidance and mentorship to Graduate Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses.
- Supporting the transition to practice and development of clinical confidence and competence.
- Delivering bedside coaching, role modelling and clinical leadership.
- Facilitating education sessions, in-services and career development activities.
- Supporting staff to achieve and maintain clinical competencies.
- Promoting evidence-based practice and resident-centred care.
- Assisting graduates to develop clinical assessment, reasoning, documentation and escalation skills.
- Working collaboratively with clinical leaders, educators and multidisciplinary teams to foster a positive learning culture and support continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
We welcome expressions of interest from Registered Nurses who:
- Hold current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Have experience working in aged care and are committed to delivering person-centred care.
- Enjoy coaching, mentoring and supporting the development of others.
- Demonstrate strong clinical assessment, reasoning and decision-making skills.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Work collaboratively and build positive working relationships.
- Are committed to evidence-based practice, continuous improvement and resident safety.
