Our client is a well‑established captive finance business operating across Australia and New Zealand, backed by a global parent group. With a growing loan and lease portfolio and continued investment in Finance, they're seeking a Financial Accountant on a 12‑month contract to own month‑end close, statutory reporting and consolidation across multiple entities, and drive process improvement in a highly manual environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end month-end close for the broker entity and NZ entity (journals: accruals, provisions, depreciation, intercompany, eliminations)

- Review P&L;/balance sheet movements at entity and consolidated level

- Support year-end statutory and consolidated financial statements

- Own balance sheet reconciliations, support external audit and statutory accounts process

- Streamline month-end/reporting processes (templates, spreadsheets, folder structures) for accuracy and efficiency

- Partner with the Financial Controller on consolidation,



eliminations and Group reporting to parent entities

- Use advanced Excel to automate manual models and speed up reporting

- Support ERP/365 implementation testing during key project phases

About You

- 5+ years' financial accounting/controllership experience, incl. consolidation and multi-entity statutory reporting

- CA or CPA (essential)

- Strong AASB technical skills; financial services experience essential

- Track record improving manual/spreadsheet-heavy processes

- Advanced Excel; detail-oriented; comfortable with tight deadlines and competing priorities

- Proactive, able to engage non-finance stakeholders on business drivers

- On-site preferred, especially the first 6 months and key reporting periods; adaptable time when needed
