Customer Service Officer, Urgent Care Clinic

Urgent Care Clinics (UCC’s) provide care to people who require urgent care but not an emergency response. Working to reduce demand on Emergency Departments, the UCC’s are a GP led multi-disciplinary service where clients with urgent but non-life threatening conditions such as mild infections, minor fractures and minor burns can receive treatment outside of the emergency department. Patient referrals will be via the MBPH Emergency Department, Ambulance Victoria (AV), Victorian Virtual Emergency Department (VVED), Nurse-on-Call, and walk-ins.

The Customer Service role may include evening and weekend work.

Reporting to the Clinical Coordinator Urgent Care Clinic, the Customer Service Officer will be responsible for supporting the nurses and GP’s operating within the UCC as well as creating a welcoming environment for patients, effectively managing UCC administrative inquiries and ensuring patient appointments are created and communicated in a timely manner. This position includes a range of administrative functions, including but not limited to; telephone operations, electronic client data base entry and maintenance, client records administration and compliance, clinician support and other administrative functions associated with the efficient operation of SCHS, working in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.

Key Selection Criteria

Mandatory

- Certificate IV in administration or equivalent qualification OR Minimum of three (3) years work experience in a similar customer service role.

- Experience providing quality customer service, reception or administrative support for a large organisation.
- Demonstrated experience in computer and data entry using Client Management Systems or equivalent database products.
- An understanding of the issue of privacy and confidentiality.




- Demonstrated excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work within a team environment to attain team goals and support colleagues.
- Must be able to demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills with an ability to work with minimal supervision.

Desirable

- Experience and knowledge of Best Practice software.
