About the Role
We are a leading provider specialising in high-end intelligent lighting control systems across commercial, hospitality, and luxury residential sectors. We are looking for a technically gifted and positive-minded Commissioning Technician to join our core team.
This isn't just a "programming" job; we need someone who thrives in the dynamic environment of a construction site and understands that successful project delivery relies as much on clear communication as it does on technical precision.
Key Responsibilities
- System Programming & Commissioning: Lead the end-to-end programming and commissioning of lighting control systems, with a mastery of C-Bus and KNX protocols.
- Technical Documentation & Design: Utilise Bluebeam for on-site redlining and take-offs, and Microsoft Visio to update or modify system architecture and schematic diagrams.
- Fault Diagnosis: Independently troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and communication issues on-site.
- Cooperative Liaison: Maintain real-time, effective communication with Project Managers, Site Electricians, and Clients to ensure project transparency and milestone achievement.
- Handover Excellence: Produce high-quality commissioning reports and "As-Built" documentation to ensure a seamless project handover.
Skills and Experience
- Technical Expertise:
Proven experience in programming and commissioning lighting control or similar alternatives system (such BMS or Home Assistant) is essential.
- Software Proficiency: Experience in Bluebeam and Microsoft Visio to handle technical drawings accurately.
- Communication & Problem Solving:
- Great verbal and written communication skills—you can explain technical hurdles to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
- A logical approach to troubleshooting with the ability to remain calm and effective under site pressure.
- Construction Ready: Comfortable with early starts (typical construction hours) and physically capable of working on active building sites.
- Culture & Mindset:

Requirements
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
- (Optional) Relevant Electrical or Engineering qualifications .
