About us

Orbit Resource Limited is a Brisbane-based explorer with gold – silver and basemetal assets located in the Lachlan Fold Belt, NSW. Our flagship asset is the Lewis Ponds VMS style gold – silver deposit positioned 15km east of Orange, NSW. We recently completed a Scoping Study on Lewis Ponds and are gearing up to commence a Pre-Feasibility Study. Separately, we also have a large chunk of exploration ground immediately north of Orange, prospective for epithermal and porphyry gold-copper mineralisation. We are a small team, passionate about geology and mineral exploration and making discoveries.

About the role

n

We are seeking a Senior Project Exploration Geologist to join the Orbit team. This position reports to the Exploration Manager and will assist in the planning and execution of exploration programs. It is a hands‐on, technically engaging role suited to someone who's keen to work in the field and contribute meaningfully to discoveries.

You'll divide your time between the Brisbane CBD office and campaign‐style field work across our Projects.

Key responsibilities

- Supervision and logging of AC, RC and diamond drill programs (including data collection, QA/QC, entry and validation)
n
- Design and implementation of geological mapping,



surface sampling and drill programs
n
- Assist in the preparation of technical and statutory reports
n
- Analysis and interpretation of drilling and surface sample results and generation of new targets
n
- Validation and interrogation of historical data
n
- Mentoring and supervision of Field Assistants and contractors
n

About you

n

n
- A Geology Degree with Honours (as a minimum)
n
- Approximately +8 years experience in hard-rock exploration, with exposure to base-metal and gold systems
n
- VMS and porphyry-epithermal exposure will be viewed favourably
n
- Enthusiasm for geology and discovery
n
- Strong fieldwork capability, including mapping and drill supervision
n
- Familiarity with exploration software – QGIS and Micromine is of benefit
n
- Valid class C driver's licence
n
- A proactive mindset, strong work ethic and willingness to travel for campaign work
n
