Established, market leading national Tier 2 Contractor Growing a business unit across remedial projects within the mining sector including blast & paint, concrete repair etc. Excellent career progression and culture Great opportunity to join a Tier 2 contractor with excellent presence in the resources, defence, industrial and commercial sectors with a strong reputation for delivering quality projects. A market leading Tier 2 contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, our client is now seeking an experienced Mining Sector Lead to join their growing business in NSW based out of Newcastle. In this role you will support business growth by securing new clients and projects and managing those projects through to delivery as well as building a team. The projects will be maintenance and remedial in nature including blast and paint, concrete repair, mechanical maintenance etc. on mining projects such as fixed plant, train loadouts, basically anything that is structural and individual projects will be circa $200k to $2m+. The candidate will need to be adaptable with good management skillset and be able to take ownership of the sector. Will need to be able to run a P&L; for the division, be good at business development and liaising with clients, also be hands. You will be supported by National Senior Leadership and will work closely with the State Manager to set and achieve growth strategies. Responsibilities





- Work with senior leadership to leverage off initial project wins and capabilities to continue significant growth in this sector and leverage this underserviced market
- Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
- Using the existing in-house experience as a foundation, develop a coordinated delivery team to deliver multiple mining remedial projects across Newcastle, the Hunter Region and NSW
- Develop a pipeline of Project Opportunities aligned with the business strategy
- Develop and maintain client relationships to assist with the aligned pipeline of opportunities
- Co-ordinate and align with State and sector Managers to ensure efficient and effective utilisation of group resources
- Bid management – Strategically champion bids from engagement through to submission
- Develop and maintain relationships with capable and culture aligned contractors
- Submit progress reports to Management and take part in Management engagement meetings to give feedback on progress
- Forecast sales targets and co-ordinate the successful achievement of targets
- Set short and long-term strategy

Qualifications and Requirements

- Extensive experience as an Sector Lead, Senior Project Manager, Program Manager or Operations Manager ideally in the mining sector on remedial related projects, bringing ideally an existing network of contacts within the sector
- Commercial acumen with the responsibility for the financial success of the NSW Mining Sector business unit
- Commitment to business development and pre-contracts activity
- Ability to manage and deliver operational and growth strategies
- Ability to influence and drive teams to deliver contribution to business objectives
