Position Purpose
n
The Disability Services Coordinator is responsible for supervising and coordinating day-to-day operations within Senami's residential and community-based facilities. This role ensures high-quality service delivery aligned with client NDIS plans and promotes mental health, well-being, and independence for individuals living with disability and comorbidities. The role requires strong leadership, clinical understanding, and a holistic approach to care planning and risk management.

Key Responsibilities
n
Client & Clinical Support
n
n
- Provide responsive and individualized support to clients in residential and community settings
n
- Conduct mental health and risk assessments, welfare checks, and develop person-centered care plans
n
- Deliver psychoeducation and therapeutic community activities promoting health and inclusion
n
- Maintain updated documentation including care plans, assessments, and reports
n
- Ensure all care meets NDIS, Senami, and SA legislative standards
n
- Coordinate internal and external referrals and manage crisis and emergency interventions
n
n
Team Supervision & Training
n
n
- Supervise and mentor Team Leaders and Support Workers
n
- Conduct training sessions, house meetings, and team supervision in collaboration with the Registered Nurse
n
- Promote a supportive and high-performing team culture
n
- Support professional development and onboarding of recent staff and students on placement
n
n
Leadership & Coordination
n
n
- Lead day-to-day residential service operations
n
- Act as on-call officer as required, managing after-hours service matters
n
- Liaise with stakeholders, allied health professionals, and external services to ensure integrated care
n
- Monitor service quality and ensure compliance with organizational and legislative standards
n
n
Required Qualifications and Experience
n
n
- Tertiary qualification in Health Sciences, Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or equivalent
n
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in disability and mental health services coordination
n
- AHPRA registration (desirable)
n
- Current and valid driver's license
n
- Access to a reliable vehicle
n
n
Mandatory Checks and Certifications
n
n
- National Police Clearance
n
- Working with Children Check
n
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
n
- DCSI clearance (if applicable)
n
- First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, MAPA/Safety Intervention Training
n
- Valid working rights in Australia
n
n
Key Competencies

- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication
n
- Strong leadership, time management, and decision-making skills
n
- Experience with clinical documentation and client record systems (e.g., Careview)
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
n
- Sound understanding of NDIS legislation, the Mental Health Act (SA), and related compliance requirements
n
