The Senior Regional Coordination Officer at the Premier's Department leads cross-agency projects and strategic coordination for western NSW. Based in Dubbo or Bourke, the role focuses on outcomes for young people involved in the justice system and calls for direct, regular engagement with regional stakeholders.

This is a temporary full-time Clerk Grade 9/10 opportunity to 30 June 2028.

The role asks for evidence across seven areas. Use examples that cover connected requirements through real work, while keeping each paragraph specific about your actions and the regional outcome.

The department has named the areas it wants to assess. Preserve that structure in your planning, then group related requirements where one example covers several parts of the work.

What the role needs

How to show it

Strategic coordination experience Use a regional or cross-government project where you developed the approach, coordinated delivery and kept long-term community outcomes visible.

Regional knowledge and community focus Show your understanding of economic,

environmental and social conditions in western NSW and how local context changed your advice or engagement.

Whole-of-government delivery Explain how you worked across agencies or intergovernmental arrangements and prepared advice for senior executives, Ministers or comparable leaders.

Government knowledge and policy insight Give evidence of machinery-of-government, Cabinet, ministerial or public-sector accountability knowledge applied to a real decision.

Communication and briefing excellence Describe a brief, correspondence item or presentation that made a complex issue clear and supported a decision under time pressure.

Stakeholder engagement and influence Use an example involving agencies, councils, community leaders or non-government organisations where you brokered a workable solution.

Project management Show how you managed milestones, several priorities, deadlines and quality across a complex initiative.

What robust regional-delivery evidence looks like

- Direct knowledge of regional communities and the conditions shaping an issue
- Your role in bringing agencies and community stakeholders around a shared course of action
- Advice that is concise, accurate and suitable for senior government readers
- Judgement in a politically sensitive or intergovernmental setting
- A practical outcome for a regional community or service system
