About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Physiotherapist to join the St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne Physiotherapy Department, providing casual weekday leave cover across our Fitzroy, Kew and Hawthorn campuses. Working across a variety of acute and subacute clinical areas, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy assessment and management to patients while supporting continuity of care across the service. This is a great opportunity for a Physiotherapist who enjoys clinical variety and flexibility and is confident working across different patient cohorts and multidisciplinary teams. You will have the opportunity to draw on your broad clinical experience while contributing to a cohesive and progressive Physiotherapy Department committed to excellence in patient care, education, research and professional development. The role also provides opportunities to support and supervise Grade 1 Physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants and Physiotherapy students as required.
Applications are welcomed from current Grade 2 Physiotherapists or suitably experienced Grade 1 Physiotherapists who are ready to take the next step in their career. Relevant postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded.
Classification: Physiotherapist Grade 2 VB1–VB4 ($45.65 - $52.50 per hour plus a casual loading fee of 25%).
What You Will Do
- Provide high-quality physiotherapy assessment, treatment and clinical management for delegated patients
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
- Provide education and support to patients, families and carers as appropriate
- Communicate assessment findings, treatment plans and outcomes effectively with nursing,
medical and Allied Health colleagues through clinical documentation and handovers
- Work collaboratively as part of multidisciplinary teams to support coordinated, person-centred care
- Provide clinical supervision, support and mentoring to Grade 1 Physiotherapists and Allied Health Assistants as required
- Provide clinical education and supervision to undergraduate and postgraduate Physiotherapy students
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement and new initiatives within the Physiotherapy Department
- Work flexibly across St Vincent’s Fitzroy, Kew and Hawthorn campuses according to service needs
Your Contribution
You are an experienced and adaptable Physiotherapist who is comfortable working across a range of clinical environments and enjoys contributing to a team-oriented multidisciplinary team.
- Current AHPRA registration as a Physiotherapist, or eligibility to obtain registration
- Recent clinical experience and demonstrated knowledge of physiotherapy management across a broad range of acute and/or subacute healthcare settings
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong clinical assessment, treatment and decision-making skills
- Experience providing clinical supervision and support to Physiotherapy students and/or junior staff
- Knowledge of and commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changing clinical priorities
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded
