Base Salary from $113,400 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Sydney Pharmacy School is internationally recognised for excellence in pharmacy education and research, driving innovation across medication management, pharmaceutical sciences, patient care, and health policy. Our academics and researchers undertake world-class research spanning medicinal chemistry, drug delivery, cellular and systems pharmacology, and health services research, contributing to improved health outcomes from discovery through to patient care and policy.
We are seeking to appoint two Lecturers in Pharmacy (Level B) to join our collegial and high-performing academic community during an exciting period of growth and transformation. In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of outstanding education through teaching and supporting students across pharmacy and pharmacology disciplines, while developing your own program of impactful research.
As part of the Sydney Pharmacy School, you will collaborate with leading academics and researchers across the Faculty of Medicine and Health, the broader health sector, and the University's multidisciplinary research initiatives. This continuing position offers a balanced academic workload of 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20% service, providing an opportunity to make significant contributions to teaching and learning, engage in educational leadership, and build a strong research and innovation portfolio within a supportive and multidisciplinary setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the delivery of outstanding education through high-quality teaching, learning,
assessment and student support across pharmacy, pharmacology and related disciplines
- Lead and contribute to curriculum design, review and educational innovation, ensuring contemporary, engaging and evidence-based learning experiences that support student success
- Develop and maintain an active research program that contributes to the School's research excellence, profile and impact
- Supervise and mentor higher degree by research students, fostering a supportive and high-performing research environment
- Establish and strengthen collaborations with academic, industry, healthcare and community partners to enhance research quality, translation and impact.
- Contribute to educational leadership activities within the School and Faculty, supporting continuous improvement in teaching and learning
- Undertake service and administrative responsibilities that support the effective operation of the School, Faculty and University
- Contribute positively to a collaborative and inclusive academic culture that values diversity, innovation, excellence and mutual respect
- Undertake other duties commensurate with the level and responsibilities of the position.
About You
- A PhD in Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related discipline
- Demonstrated expertise in pharmacy, pharmacology or pharmaceutical sciences, with the ability to contribute to teaching and research across relevant areas of the Sydney Pharmacy School
- An emerging or established research track record, evidenced by high-quality scholarly outputs and a clear potential to develop a sustained program of research
- Experience in teaching and learning within higher education, including curriculum development, unit coordination, assessment design and the delivery of engaging, student-centred learning experiences
- Demonstrated success in designing, implementing and evaluating innovative teaching and learning initiatives that enhance student outcomes
- Experience in supervising, mentoring and supporting undergraduate, postgraduate and/or higher degree by research students
- The ability to build productive collaborations and contribute to multidisciplinary research, teaching and engagement activities
- An understanding of current and emerging issues within the discipline and the higher education sector, with the capacity to contribute to educational and research priorities
- A commitment to fostering inclusive, equitable and respectful learning and working environments that support the success of students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to contribute positively to a collaborative academic community.
