Job Description
Mediix is partnering with an established multidisciplinary private practice in Melbourne's northern suburbs to appoint a Speech Pathologist to their growing team. What sets this role apart: you choose the caseload that suits you. Whether you want to build a paediatric caseload, focus on adults, or work across both, the practice will shape the role around your clinical strengths and the areas you want to grow into.
n
This is a fully clinic-based position — no driving between schools or client homes, no community travel — with a warm, collegial team of Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and allied health support staff working out of a modern, purpose-designed clinic.
n
About the role
n
You'll build your own caseload from the practice's steady referral base. Depending on your preference, that might look like:
n
n
- Paediatrics — early language delay, ASD, DLD, articulation and phonology, fluency, AAC, school-age literacy and social communication
n
- Adults — acquired communication disorders, voice, fluency, cognitive-communication and dysphagia
n
- Mixed — a genuine blend across ages, if variety is what you're after
n
n
Day to day, you will:
n
n
- Complete comprehensive assessments and formulate clear clinical impressions
n
- Develop individualised, evidence-based therapy plans
n
- Deliver 1:1 sessions in clinic, with group work where clinically indicated
n
- Collaborate closely with the in-house MDT on shared clients
n
- Partner with families,
carers and support workers through coaching and education
n
- Maintain clinical documentation and complete NDIS, Medicare and DVA reporting as required
n
- Contribute to team case reviews, in-house PD and peer discussion
n
n
What our client offers
n
n
- Above-award remuneration, negotiable on experience
n
- Generous CPD budget, paid study leave and in-house learning sessions
n
- Structured clinical supervision — genuine mentoring for early-career SPs, and peer support for senior clinicians
n
- A caseload built around your clinical interests, not simply handed to you
n
- Fully clinic-based work — predictable hours, no travel time between clients
n
- Admin, intake and NDIS billing support so your day stays clinical
n
- Real flexibility — 0.6–1.0 FTE, compressed weeks and school-hours arrangements all considered
n
- Contemporary, well-resourced clinic with a full assessment and therapy library
n
- Employee Assistance Program and a low-turnover, supportive team culture
n
- Easy access by car and public transport, with on-site parking
n
n
About you
n
n
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech Pathology
n
- New graduates with strong placement experience are warmly encouraged to apply — structured new-grad support is in place
n
- Experienced SPs seeking a stable, well-run practice equally welcome
n
- Strong clinical reasoning, documentation and interpersonal skills
n
- Working with Children Check (VIC) and NDIS Worker Screening
n
- Current Victorian driver's licence preferred
