SHIRAZ MODERNA PTY LTD trading as Surfers Pizza Kebab is seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager (General) to manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations of our busy quick-food retail business located in Surfers Paradise.

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing business operations, stock control, purchasing, supplier relationships, pricing, sales performance, financial records, employees, customer service, marketing activities and workplace health and safety.

About the role

n

We are seeking a Retail Manager (General) to join our team at SHIRAZ MODERNA PTY LTD trading as Surfers Pizza Kebab in Surfers Paradise, QLD 4217. This is a full-time position that will be fundamental in driving the success of our retail operations. As Retail Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of day-to-day store management, including staff supervision, inventory control, customer service excellence, and financial performance. You will play a key role in ensuring our store operates efficiently whilst maintaining the high standards our customers expect.

Key responsibilities

n

- Oversee all daily store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery
n
- Manage and supervise staff members, including recruitment, training, scheduling and performance management
n
- Monitor and control inventory levels, stock rotation, and ordering procedures to minimise waste
n
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health and hygiene regulations and company policies
n
- Maintain financial accountability, including cash handling, point-of-sale systems and reconciliation
n
- Drive sales performance and implement strategies to maximise revenue and customer satisfaction
n




- Maintain excellent customer service standards and handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally
n
- Conduct regular stock counts and maintain accurate records
n
- Liaise with suppliers and manage vendor relationships
n
- Implement and maintain visual merchandising and store cleanliness standards
n

What we're looking for

- Proven retail management experience, ideally within a food retail or hospitality environment
n
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
n
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
n
- Sound understanding of financial management and profit and loss principles
n
- Knowledge of food safety standards and health and hygiene compliance
n
- Customer service excellence and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional experiences
n
- Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and retail management software
n
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
n
- Preferred 1 year of experience in pizza, kebab, or similar food service retail
n
