As part of our 2026 early career intake, you will kick start your career in the worlds largest pure‑play sustainability consultancy, supporting Australian and global clients on climate strategy, emissions accounting and carbon markets including the Australian Carbon Credit Unit (ACCU) scheme.

What You’ll Do in Your First 12 months

- Access a buddy who will guide you and support your development and career aspirations.
- Comprehensive onboarding to equip you for consulting at ERM.
- Core consulting skills training (face‑to‑face and e‑learning) to build key capabilities.
- Start working on exciting projects and clients to apply your skills.

Key Attributes for Success

- Relevant tertiary education in science, economics, finance, public policy, law or engineering.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in Australian climate policy and carbon markets through coursework, internships, research or applied projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint,



Word and ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Ability to multi‑task and manage multiple project assignments under strict deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to understand complex numerical information and use it to tell a story in reports.
- Strong motivation and willingness to be flexible across technical disciplines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Confident engagement and consultation with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong commitment to safety and ability to follow established health and safety protocols.

Pluses

- Prior consulting experience.
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as PowerBI.
- Familiarity with emissions accounting and modelling.
- Familiarity with the Australian carbon market and key institutions/processes (CFI methods, Clean Energy Regulator, project registration and crediting concepts).
- Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
- Familiarity with remote sensing and spatial data manipulation.
- Basic proficiency in Python or R.
