Practice Information
This organisation provides integrated mental health, physical rehabilitation, wellbeing and social connection services to current and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members and their families impacted by service. Based within a Veteran & Family Wellbeing Centre, the multidisciplinary team includes psychologists and other health and wellbeing professionals who work collaboratively to deliver evidence-based, person-centred care. Services include psychological assessment, therapeutic intervention, recovery programs and community connection activities, supporting veterans and families to reconnect, recover and thrive.
Position Description
As a Psychologist, you will provide psychological assessments and evidence-based therapeutic interventions to veterans, current serving Defence members and their families.
You will develop and implement tailored treatment plans that respond to individual needs, support clients with a broad range of psychological and wellbeing challenges, and facilitate group skills development programs within your scope of practice.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with colleagues, external clinicians and referral partners to deliver coordinated, person-centred care.
You will maintain high-quality clinical records, reports and case notes,
contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of programs and services, and actively participate in clinical supervision and professional development.
Position Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology
- Full, unconditional registration with AHPRA
- Minimum two years' experience working as a Psychologist
- Experience developing and delivering evidence-based treatment plans
- Strong clinical communication, assessment, report writing and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to skilled standards, ethical practice and ongoing clinical development
- National Police Check
- Current Queensland C Class Driver Licence
Highly regarded
- Experience providing psychological services to current or former Defence members and their families
- Additional training in trauma-focused therapies such as EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) or Prolonged Exposure (PE)
