Position Information

Minto Public School is located in the south west Sydney region of NSW with an average student enrolment of 240 and one of four public primary schools providing educational services within the Minto Community of Schools. The school culture is that of belonging and connectedness with the students, staff and parents working together to promote school excellence.

Specific Selection Criteria

- Approval to teach primary English as an additional language or dialect or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in English as an additional language primary or dialect qualifications approved by the NSW Department of education.
- Demonstrated experience in evidence-based explicit teaching,



with the ability to collaborate with classroom teachers to plan, implement and evaluate EAL/D strategies that strengthen English language development and improve literacy outcomes for EaLD and New Arrival learners.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with students, staff, families and the wider school community.
- Strong understanding and application of departmental policies and procedures, including use of the EAL/D school Evaluation Framework, to plan for and implement improved whole school practices that align with school priorities.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Special Notes

This is a permanent part-time position of 3 days per week, 0.6FTE (full time equivalent)
