We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Education Assistant to join our team in a permanent, full-time position, commencing 12 October 2026, or as negotiated. The successful candidate will support students with care and compassion, working collaboratively with staff and families.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Support the teacher in delivering developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
n
- Prepare, organise, and maintain classroom resources and the learning environment.
n
- Assist with classroom management, student wellbeing, and minor first aid.
n
- Work with individual students or small groups to support learning as directed.
n
- Observe and document student progress, providing feedback to the teacher.
n
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment, maintaining professional boundaries and referring parent concerns to the teacher.
n

Essential Selection Criteria

n

n
- Demonstrates a personal commitment to Jesus Christ, regular church attendance,



and alignment with SCEA's Statement of Faith and Christian lifestyle values.
n
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, parents, staff, and other professionals.
n
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage workload efficiently.
n
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under time constraints.
n
- Demonstrate initiative, responsiveness to direction, and a commitment to ongoing professional growth.
n
- Current Working with Children Check and Department of Education Criminal History Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
n

Desirable Selection Criteria

n

n
- Relevant qualification (e.g. Certificate III/IV in Education Support or similar).
n
- Previous experience working in an early childhood or primary classroom setting.
n
- Experience supporting children with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities or additional behavioural, social, or emotional needs.
n
- First Aid qualifications.
n
