About the role
Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac/Surgical team on a casual basis.
Mater has recently finalised the strategic acquisition of Healthscope's Gold Coast Private Hospital, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to delivering exceptional and compassionate healthcare to Queensland communities.
Based at our Gold Coast Campus in Southport, you will be part of our state-of-the-art 339-bed facility, established in 2016. Our hospital delivers a comprehensive range of services across Emergency, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastics, ENT, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology.
- Delivering high-quality patient-centred care throughout the patient journey and continuum of care.
- Applying advanced clinical knowledge and critical thinking skills to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
- Providing leadership and support to the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Promoting evidence-based practice and contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring quality and risk management principles are integrated into daily clinical practice.
- Working collaboratively with nursing, medical and allied health teams to provide exceptional care every time.
- Maintaining and developing professional knowledge and clinical competencies through ongoing learning and development.
About you
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions.
- Demonstrated experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute medical or surgical environment,
with cardiac experience highly regarded.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare setting.
- Robust clinical assessment, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to delivering patient-centred care and achieving positive clinical outcomes.
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude and commitment to role modelling Mater's values.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care, safety and service delivery.
- Availability to work a 24/7 rotating roster including mornings, afternoons and night shifts.
