About the role

n

The MyTime Play Helper supports children, including those with additional needs, by facilitating engaging play experiences while parents participate in MyTime sessions. The role involves creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive play workplace, preparing play and learning materials, and encouraging children's development through play.

n

We are seeking a Play Helper to join the MyTime Whyalla group. Sessions are held six times per school term, with each session running for three hours.

n

Key duties of the role

n

n




- Facilitate child-related play activities for a small group of children.
n
- Providing support for children with additional needs while parents participate in activities and discussions.
n
- Setting up an appropriate environment and the preparation of play and learning materials for children.
n
- Supporting the MyTime Facilitator with set-up, pack-up and parent/member engagement before children arrive.
n
- Contributing to a team environment that promotes positivity, learning and development, safety, and welfare of employees, acknowledge differences and encourage creativity, innovation and honesty.

Skills and Experience

n

n
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate well to children with special needs and their parents.
n
- Ability to work with a wide range of people from different cultures, backgrounds, and circumstances.
n
- Ability to work well as part of a team, willing to provide assistance and cooperation to other staff at all levels.
n
- Creativity and initiative, you will bring the ability to perform work as instructed, under general direction and exercise limited judgment in the execution of the role
