Job Description
A private Brisbane family is seeking an experienced Nanny / House Manager to take on a long-established full time role. The position becomes available in November following the departure of the existing nanny who has held it for ten years and is leaving to start her own family. A four-week paid handover is provided.

This is a senior household position combining primary childcare with full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the home. It will suit an experienced professional seeking a stable, long-term role with a family that values continuity.

About the family
n
A family of five on Brisbane's north side, with three children aged 3, 9 and 11 and one dog. Both parents run their own businesses and work full days, so the household depends on capable, autonomous management.

Key responsibilities
n
School and daycare drop-offs and pickups. From 2027 this involves three separate locations - high school, primary school and daycare
n
Breakfasts, evening meals, homework support, bath and bedtime routines
n
Transport to and from extra-curricular activities
n
Coordinating school requirements, uniforms and equipment
n
Supporting each child's routine and independence appropriate to their age
n
Household management
n
Daily reset of kitchen and living areas to a high standard
n
Laundry - a substantial and ongoing part of this role
n
Grocery shopping, weekly meal planning, fridge and pantry management
n
Linen, general organisation and household errands
n
Coordinating tradespeople, maintenance and repairs
n
Fortnightly cleaners attend for deep cleaning
n
General
n
Occasional errands supporting the family's businesses
n
Absolute discretion regarding all family, household and business matters
n
Hours
n
Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 6:00pm
n
Permanent full-time, employed with superannuation and paid leave.

School holidays
n
The family works through most school holidays, so the role continues with adjusted duties rather than closing down. Some holiday periods involve accompanying the children to the family's Sunshine Coast property for the week while the parents work in Brisbane. These weeks are paid and involve sole charge and overnight stays. Applicants should be satisfied this is workable for them before applying.

Remuneration and benefits

$90 000 paid with superannuation and paid leave (negotiable)

A vehicle is provided for school runs and household errands - no use of your own car, no fuel costs

All meals provided on working days

Four weeks' annual leave [plus - specify the additional entitlement]

Four-week paid handover with the outgoing Nanny / House Manager

About you

The successful candidate will bring:

Substantial experience in nanny, household management or comparable private household roles
n
Consistently high energy and warmth - this is a busy, active household and sustained enthusiasm is the single most important attribute

Genuine pride in maintaining an organised, well-presented home
n
Confidence managing three children of markedly different ages
n
Strong organisational judgement and the ability to work without supervision
n
A safe, confident driver with an unblemished record

Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check) [confirm]

Open Queensland driver's licence with a clean record

Current First Aid and CPR certification
