Heavy Vehicle Road Transport Mechanic - Balcatta - Permanent

Your Role in Action
As a key member of our maintenance team, you’ll work hands‑on across Western Power’s fleet of heavy vehicles and plant, ensuring reliability, safety, and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities include
- Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Carrying out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
- Performing inspections, safety checks, and compliance work
- Repair and ongoing maintenance of heavy vehicles and plant equipment
This role offers variety, challenge, and the opportunity to work with a wide range of up-to-date equipment in a high‑performing team.
This role is covered under the CEPU Agreement and offers an attractive hourly base rate starting from $57.96 per hour (+ 25% Casual loading), dependent on qualifications and authorisations held. In addition, employees receive a site allowance of $2.50 per hour applied to all hours worked.

Essential skills & experience
- AQF3 Trade Qualification in Heavy Duty Mechanics, Auto Electrics, or Mechanical Fitting
- Proven industry experience as a Heavy Vehicle or Plant Mechanic
- Experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and low‑voltage electrical systems
- Strong teamwork skills and a reliable, proactive work ethic
Desirable licences (or willingness to obtain)
- WA HR Driver’s Licence
- High Risk Licence – EWP
- High Risk Licence – Dogging
- High Risk Licence – Forklift
