Job Summary

This role supports Macarthur Rams Football Club ahead of the 2027 Men's NPL League One and NPL1 Women's seasons. The post holder will work with the Performance Manager, Head Coach, Technical Director, and Lead Physiotherapist to develop and implement athlete development practices across both men's and women's programmes. Responsibilities include leading speed and conditioning periodisation, creating individual strength programmes, attending training and matchdays, collecting and reporting GPS data, and managing a small number of S&C; students or interns.

This role appears to align with IQF Level 6, as it involves leading periodisation and delivery of on-field speed and conditioning programmes, creating and managing individual strength programmes, leading GPS data collection and reporting, attending training and game days, and managing 1 to 2 S&C; students or interns. The role covers both men's and women's programmes and requires applied decision-making across a full season. Although the title is Head of Strength & Conditioning, the part-time contract structure, reporting line to the Head of Football and Performance Manager, and limited intern management suggest Level 6 qualified accountability rather than a full Level 7 departmental leadership role.

Salary and Role Alignment

Grey. Salary is not disclosed, so full salary and role alignment cannot be assessed. However, the role appears to require Level 6 professional capability, including seasonal planning, individual programme design, GPS data collection and reporting, game-day attendance, and responsibility across both men's and women's programmes.

IUSCA recommended minimum salary: AUD $50 per hour, or a clearly stated contract value equivalent to the expected 12 to 20 hours per week across the full season.

This minimum recommendation reflects the Level 6 classification, the responsibility for both men's and women's programmes, individual strength programming, on-field speed and conditioning delivery, GPS reporting, and intern coordination. A higher hourly rate or contract value may be appropriate if the role includes substantial unsocial hours, matchday travel, responsibility for rehabilitation integration, or broader leadership of the performance department.

This role has been classified by IUSCA based on publicly available information. The classification is intended to support professional transparency and help practitioners and employers understand the relationship between role scope, responsibility, autonomy, qualification expectations, and salary alignment. Applicants should review the original advert before applying.
