An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join a well-established Australian food manufacturing business based in Melbourne's northern suburbs. This company manufactures and distributes a diverse range of food products across both retail and foodservice markets and operates within a fast-paced production workplace.

We are seeking a hands-on maintenance professional who thrives in a manufacturing environment and can contribute to keeping production equipment operating safely and efficiently.

About the Role

Working as part of the maintenance team on the afternoon shift, you will be responsible for ensuring plant, machinery and production equipment remain operational while minimising downtime and supporting production targets.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across production lines
- Perform troubleshooting on pneumatic, hydraulic and conveyor systems
- Assist with basic electrical fault-finding and equipment diagnostics
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of machinery




- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant reliability
- Ensure maintenance records and documentation are completed accurately
- Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime
- Adhere to all food safety, quality and workplace safety requirements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner, Maintenance Fitter or equivalent
- Previous experience in a food, beverage, FMCG, pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Exposure to electrical diagnostics and industrial control systems
- Experience working with conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings and production machinery
- Ability to work autonomously and prioritise maintenance tasks
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards
- Availability to commence around 21st of September
