About the Role

As a Senior Recycling Centre Assistant, this is your opportunity to support the daily operations of Salvos Container Recycling Bundamba, delivering excellent customer service while helping customers redeem recyclable containers for refunds. Reporting to the Recycling Centre Manager, this is a permanent, full time role, based on site in Bundamba, QLD.

How you will make an impact

- Support the day-to-day operations of Salvos Container Recycling Bundamba, helping maintain an productive and high-performing site.
- Provide leadership and supervision of team members, including acting in the Centre Manager's absence when required.
- Deliver friendly, respectful customer service and assist with enquiries, complaints, and issue resolution.
- Assist with container counting, sorting and storage, while operating equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely.
- Maintain site presentation, cleanliness, cash handling processes, and compliance with operational and WHS procedures.
- Train, mentor and support team members, monitor performance targets, and help foster a positive workplace culture.

What you will bring

- Demonstrated customer service experience working in a retail environment with an ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Proven experience in the recycling/transport industry is desirable
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
- Unrestricted C Class Licence is desirable
- Forklift Licence or the willingness to attain is essential
- A national police record check is required
