About the role

Barwon Health Special Care Nursery is inviting applications from motivated Registered Nurses with a postgraduate qualification in Neonatal Nursing to join our Level 5 service. Successful applicants will play an integral role in providing high-quality, family-centred care to premature, complex, and critically ill neonates and their families within a supportive multidisciplinary team environment. This is an exciting opportunity to further develop your neonatal nursing expertise within a progressive and expanding regional health service.

Key responsibilities

- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to premature, complex, and critically ill neonates within the Special Care Nursery.
- Provide compassionate, family-centred care and support to parents and carers throughout the neonatal journey.
- Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure secure, coordinated, and patient-focused care.
- Assess, monitor, and respond appropriately to changes in neonatal condition, escalating care when required.
- Contribute to a positive team culture and ongoing quality improvement, education, and professional development initiatives within the nursery.





What we’re looking for

- Postgraduate qualification in Neonatal Nursing and demonstrated experience within a Special Care Nursery or neonatal setting.
- Well-developed clinical assessment skills and the ability to provide safe, evidence-based neonatal care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to family-centred care and collaborative teamwork.
