Primary objective

Deliver a responsive, quality, cost-effective travel service to NT Health, with a key focus on ensuring compliance with NT Government and NT Health official travel policies, guidelines and processes.

Key duties and responsibilities

- 1. Act as the first point of contact, providing clear advice to travellers and managers on matters relating to policy, procedure and legislation relevant to government travel.
- 2. Process travel requisitions and undertake compliance checks against NT Government and NT Health official travel requirements.
- 3. Reconcile and process travel-related accounts and corporate credit card transactions, ensuring appropriate approvals and supporting documentation are in place.
- 4.



Identify and resolve travel non-compliance in a tactful and professional manner, providing advice to travellers and managers where required.
- 5. Act as administrator for the agency travel system, providing staff support and training. Co-ordinate official travel through the Northern Territory Government corporate travel provider and other approved vendors, including creating and maintaining traveller profiles.
- 6. Provide advice to the Travel Manager and relevant stakeholders on travel service delivery, coordination and continuous improvement, including the identification of risks, issues and solutions.
- 7. Develop and maintain solid customer relationships with internal and external stakeholders through timely liaison, negotiation and problem- solving.
- 8. Maintain effective reporting systems and provide accurate reports, submissions and briefings relating to areas of responsibility.
- 9. Follow service quality standards and work health and safety policies and procedures to ensure high-quality, safe services and workplaces.

Selection criteria Essential

- 1. Sound knowledge of policies and guidelines relating to NTG official travel, or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn and translate relevant policies into practice.
- 2. Well-developed office administration skills and processes,



including high-level numeracy and literacy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to undertake compliance activities and audits.
- 3. Sound analytical, logical and problem-solving skills, with the proven ability to analyse information, provide accurate advice and make evidence- based recommendations.
- 4. High-level communication, mediation and negotiation skills, with the ability to work and interact respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
- 5. Demonstrated ability to use corporate systems and databases to maintain accurate records, undertake analysis and produce reports.
- 6. Well-developed interpersonal and client service skills, with a proven commitment to meeting client expectations and requirements.
- 7. Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team, contributing to team objectives and making effective use of own and others’ capabilities.
- 8. Demonstrated ability to work with initiative, sound judgement and autonomy, while maintaining a high level of motivation.
- 9. High-level computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
