GV Auto Mechanics is a well‑established, full‑service automotive repairer committed to quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. Our workshop provides comprehensive vehicle servicing and repairs across a diverse range of makes and models for clients throughout the Goulburn Valley.
Due to continuous business growth and increasing customer demand, we are seeking a qualified and motivated Motor Mechanic to join our dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and testing motor vehicles and related mechanical components.
- Inspecting vehicle engines and mechanical parts to diagnose operational faults and defects accurately.
- Utilizing advanced diagnostic scan tools and equipment to identify electronic and mechanical issues.
- Performing scheduled logbook servicing, tune‑ups, fluid changes, and general vehicle maintenance.
- Overhauling, servicing, and repairing petrol, diesel, LPG, and hybrid engine and transmission systems.
- Disassembling engine units, differentials, and transmissions, and inspecting components for wear using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and callipers.
- Repairing and replacing broken or worn components, including brakes, suspension, clutches, steering assemblies, pistons, valves, and bearings.
- Diagnosing, servicing, and replacing engine management and Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) systems.
- Conducting road tests on repaired vehicles to verify proper functionality and safety prior to customer delivery.
- Providing clear, accurate assessments and estimates of repair time, parts, and labor.
- Maintaining workshop cleanliness, caring for workshop machinery and specialized tools, and strictly adhering to Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
Candidate Requirements
- Relevant trade qualification (Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent trade qualification).
- Minimum of 1 year of post‑qualification hands‑on workshop experience as a Motor Mechanic (1–3 years preferred).
- Demonstrated proficiency with modern vehicle diagnostic scan equipment and repair procedures.
- Solid mechanical knowledge spanning diverse vehicle makes and powertrains, including petrol, diesel, and hybrid systems.
- Valid driver’s license (manual license preferred).
- Strong attention to detail, pride in quality workmanship, and good communication skills.
- Full Australian working rights (eligible temporary visa holders or candidates seeking employer sponsorship may also be considered).
