The Commercial Hotel is a well-established pub in the heart of Bega, offering quality bistro meals in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We are seeking a reliable and motivated Cook to join our busy kitchen team and assist in delivering consistently high-quality meals to our patrons.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a variety of pub-style meals in accordance with established recipes and venue standards.
- Assist with the preparation of ingredients, including portioning, chopping, marinating and basic food preparation.
- Ensure meals are prepared and presented consistently, maintaining quality and portion control.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food safety and quality standards are met.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations, equipment and food preparation areas.
- Assist with stock rotation, storage and inventory control to minimise food wastage.
- Receive and check deliveries to ensure quality and quantity of supplies.
- Work collaboratively with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods.




- Comply with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements at all times.
- Assist with cleaning duties and kitchen closing procedures as required.

Selection Criteria

- Previous experience as a Cook in a restaurant, hotel, pub or similar commercial kitchen.
- Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques and safe food handling practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills.
- Availability to work a versatile roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- Relevant commercial cookery qualifications will be highly regarded.
