HumeLink West Project

Two CIMIC Group companies, UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the 130km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.

HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure.

The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning 130kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0.

Aboriginal Engagement Coordinator

UGL and CPB Contractors have a exciting current announce for a Aboriginal Engagement Coordinator to join the team on the Humelink West project.

About the role

Be the primary point of contact for Community engagement, advice/guidance on Aboriginal businesses and employment opportunities.

- Develop and implement employment strategies to attract Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander talent.
- Identify opportunities to engage local Aboriginal businesses.
- Represent UGL internally and externally as an SME on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples matters.
- Provide input into UGL’s initiatives for bids and tenders.
- Promote a more inclusive work environment.

Your responsibilities will include

- Identify and establish key contacts within local Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities including land councils and regional community development and other government agencies.




- Support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees at UGL.
- Provide advice, support, and contribute to the UGL RAP working groups.
- Report on outcomes related to Aboriginal employment, events and initiatives and continuous improvement of documentation and reporting.

About you

- Must be able to demonstrate a strong connection with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Experience with Aboriginal employment initiatives.
- A genuine interest in building UGL’s capability for success with a commitment to diversity and inclusion activities
