- Aligned to Council band 6, salary commencing as $100 577.59 per annum plus 12% superannuation
- Hybrid working and RDO accrual available

The Opportunity Moonee Valley City Council is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our Finance team.

In this role, you will support Council's financial reporting, compliance and governance functions, including the preparation of annual financial statements, statutory returns, reconciliations, cash flow management and investment activities. You will also provide financial advice and support across the organisation while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

About You To be successful in this role, you will:

- Hold tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline and be CA/CPA qualified (or working towards qualification),



or possess equivalent experience;
- Have experience in financial reporting, reconciliations and statutory compliance;
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of accounting standards, taxation requirements and financial controls;
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail;
- Have experience using financial management systems and Microsoft Office applications; and
- Be able to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
