Do you have a knack for spotting numbers that don't quite stack up? Are you the person who notices a missing payment, a billing discrepancy, or an overdue invoice and simply can't let it go until it's sorted?
We're looking for an experienced and highly organised Accounts Receivable Officer who loves accuracy, values efficiency, and enjoys bringing structure to a busy environment. In this role, you'll partner with stakeholders across the business, help keep cash flowing, and ensure our receivables processes run smoothly and effectively.
You'll be right at home if you're naturally curious, enjoy solving problems, and have hands-on experience working in accounts receivable within an industrial manufacturing business. We're looking for someone who takes pride in getting the details right, works efficiently under pressure, and understands that behind every invoice is a customer, a project, and a deadline.
Joining our small and dedicated Finance & Accounting team and reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll find plenty of variety, great people to work with, and more excitement than most people expect from a role involving spreadsheets. Some call it accounts receivable - we call it keeping the wheels turning.
TASKS:
- Invoicing for complex engineering projects, including collecting supporting documents for submitting invoices to customers (e.g. Service Reports, Expense Claim Forms, Receipts, Supplier Invoices, etc.).
- Actively following up on overdue invoices through structured dunning processes, including reminder emails, statements, and collection calls.
- Investigating and resolving invoice disputes, short payments, and billing discrepancies in a timely manner to facilitate prompt payment.
- Coordinating with project managers, sales,
and finance teams to address client queries or internal requests affecting payment timelines.
- Following up with project and sales managers on completed projects.
- Preparing accounts receivable ageing reports to monitor outstanding balances and identify overdue accounts.
- Supporting month-end close activities by ensuring receivables are accurate.
- Creating new customers in the ERP system and completing the necessary due diligence activities.
- Processing daily bank transactions into the accounting system.
- Performing bank reconciliations to ensure all receipts, payments, and transfers are accurately recorded.
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Full work rights, ideally Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Strong numerical aptitude and advanced analytical skills
- Experience in a similar role, ideally within service, engineering, or sales industries
- Hands-on working knowledge of accounting software, preferably SAP
- High level of computer literacy and Excel proficiency
- Effective and accurate processing of transactions in a paperless environment
- Effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders
- Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Problem-solving and time-management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-starter, highly organised, able to prioritise work, with strong attention to detail
- Able to maintain focus and composure, especially under time pressure
- Successful candidate is required to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment and background check, both organised and paid for by the company
What’s on Offer
- Market-aligned remuneration, extra super, annual discretionary bonus, annual salary review
- Hybrid role: working from home 2 days per week (flexibility is required to meet business/customer needs)
- Tools of trade: notebook
- Career development opportunities via Everllence e-Academy, LinkedIn Learning, and/or classroom training where possible.
- EAP - Employee Assistance Program
- Novated lease for new vehicle purchase
- Discount on new vehicle purchase
- Well-appointed office and onsite parking
If your skills and experience match the above, please apply and enclose a copy of your updated resume and cover letter addressing the Selection Criteria outlined above.
