About this role

As our Applications Specialist, you will manage, support and optimise our Finance applications stack, working closely with our internal Finance team to ensure business-critical platforms are secure, performant, up to date and continually improved. This role supports key operations including time capture, billing, credit control, accounts payable, financial reporting, resource planning, travel and expense management. As the subject matter expert across platforms such as APS practice management, Workcapcha, Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, SAP Concur, FCM, Saviom and Workplace Requisitions, you will be the primary point of contact for day-to-day system support, vendor engagement, project delivery and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

- Support, maintain and continually improve the Finance applications stack, including APS practice management, Workcapcha time capture, Microsoft Dynamics Excellent Plains, SAP Concur, FCM, Saviom and Workplace Requisitions.
- Work with the internal Finance team to support month-end processes, including weekly timesheet posting, APS rollover, provisions and preparation of financial journals for import to Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.
- Manage user setup, permissions, profiles and data access to ensure security and compliance across Finance platforms.
- Monitor system performance and security, troubleshoot issues and ensure platform stability.
- Stay current with application releases and roadmap future releases based on available features, vendor schedules and business requests.
- Manage relationships with platform vendors,



support partners and internal champion networks, while supporting project delivery and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support integrations between Finance applications and other platforms, including Salesforce and Databricks, collaborating with the Digital team to ensure seamless data flow and system interoperability.
- Partner with Finance and Programme Management teams to identify, assess, design and deliver enhancements that maximise return on investment and improve operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement across Finance applications and connected platforms.
- Support the Digital training function with end-user training and support documentation to promote adoption and effective use of Finance applications.

Skills & experience

- Relevant tertiary qualification or a combination of qualification and experience within the IT field.
- Experience supporting both SAAS and on-premise two-tier finance applications.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including the ability to read, write and troubleshoot T-SQL queries, stored procedures and views.
- Excellent customer service skills and a proactive, customer-focused attitude.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively manage priorities, problem solve and meet deadlines.
- Proven commitment to staying up to date with the latest technology trends.
- A strong understanding of ITIL principles and service management tooling or processes, with ITIL v4 certification highly desirable.
- Business process re-engineering and design experience, including process documentation, user documentation and report generation, will be highly regarded.
- Previous experience in an accounting, finance or professional services environment will be highly regarded.
