We are Ether Software. We build custom software for businesses: MVPs for founders getting ready to raise, client portals, internal tools that replace a mess of spreadsheets. Our engineers are in Perth and the work is done here, not offshore.

Our ads bring in more enquiries than we can properly work through. We need one person to call them, fast.

What the role actually is:

Everyone you call has already put their hand up and asked us to get in touch. You are not cold calling and you are not prospecting for leads. Your job is a ten to fifteen minute conversation where you work out three things: is there a real business behind this, is there a real budget, and are they ready to move in the next few months. If yes, you book them into a scoping call with our director. If no, you tell them politely and move on.

The people you speak to will be business owners describing an app or a system they want built. You do not need to be technical. You do need to be curious enough about software that those conversations hold your interest, and confident enough to ask someone about their budget in the first five minutes.

There are no set hours, but speed is the job.

Enquiries arrive whenever they arrive, including weekends, and a lead called within a few minutes is far more likely to turn into a booked appointment than the same lead called half an hour later. Since you are paid on projects that end up closing which come from your booked appointments, that speed is your income.

What we ask for in practice:





- A first call attempt within 15 minutes for enquiries arriving between 9am and 5pm Perth time (This time schedule has some flexibility), any day of the week
- Anything arriving outside that window, called first thing the next morning
- You decide how you cover it and when you work around it. We do not track your hours, we track response time and booked appointments

What a week looks like:

- Around 15 to 20 calls, plus follow ups (This can easily increase to a higher volume if you can handle more calls, which means more opportunity for closes that get you paid)
- A short written handoff note for every booked call
- A weekly catch up with our director, who you report to directly

The arrangement, stated plainly:

- Commission based: $[X] for every qualified appointment that shows up, plus $[Y] when that client signs a project
- Part time to start, in the range of 10 to 15 hours a week of actual call time
- Fully remote, anywhere in Australia
- We are scaling our marketing spend over the next six months. As lead volume grows this becomes a full time role

We are a small team. There is no sales department to hide behind and no script to read on autopilot, although we are in the processing of developing and growing as a business.

- You can run your own week without anyone checking on you
- You can tell someone they are not a fit without making it awkward
