About Bruqe

Bruqe is a systems-intelligence advisory that helps leaders make high-stakes decisions in uncertain, fast-moving environments. We work with corporate, investment, and public-sector clients on the questions that shape their long-term direction: capital allocation, competitiveness, resilience, market entry and growth, technology and investment priorities, supply-chain resilience, and major industrial or policy transitions.

Our approach blends strategy, market intelligence, policy research, and quantitative modelling with AI-driven analytics, causal and scenario modelling, and proprietary system-mapping tools. This lets us show clients how market, technological, policy, economic, and organisational forces interact, so they can stress-test strategies against plausible futures and find the moves that matter most, rather than relying on single-point forecasts.

The Role

This is a full-time, in office Associate position based in Melbourne, VIC. You'll work closely with senior advisors across the full arc of an engagement, from framing the strategic question through to the final client presentation.

- Framing and research. You'll help scope questions involving long-horizon uncertainty, transition risk, growth, resilience, or competitive positioning, then run the structured research behind them, literature reviews, data collection, and synthesis of market, technology, policy, economic, and societal signals into clear, decision-relevant insight.
- Scenario and systems work. You'll build scenario narratives, assumptions, and uncertainty matrices, along with early-warning indicators that flag when a future is starting to materialise. You'll also contribute to systems maps and causal frameworks that surface dependencies, incentives, constraints, feedback loops, and second-order effects.
- Analysis and implications.

You'll support sensitivity analyses on strategic options and assess what different futures mean in practice, for strategy, capital allocation, operating models, partnerships, and capability needs.
- Client deliverables. You'll help translate all of the above into memos, presentations, and other materials built for senior leadership discussions and decision forums, clear and evidence-led, without losing the nuance.Internal contribution.
- Beyond client work, you'll help build out Bruqe's internal knowledge base: foresight methodologies, industry analytics, models, and reusable templates that make future engagements sharper.

What You'll Bring

- A bachelor's or master's degree in economics, public policy, engineering, business, international relations, sustainability, technology, or a related field.
- Experience in strategy consulting, research, policy analysis, corporate planning, investment analysis, or another rigorously analytical environment.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, comfort building structured arguments, interpreting complex systems, and working with data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to make complex ideas accessible for different audiences.
- Genuine interest in strategic foresight, scenario planning, systems thinking, geopolitical change, or technological and market transitions.
- Comfort working across disciplines and sitting with uncertainty, rather than reaching for the nearest single forecast.
- Familiarity with modelling, scenario analysis, or data visualisation tools is a plus.
- The ability to juggle multiple workstreams in a small, high-performing team, with attention to detail under time pressure.

What Success Looks Like

You'll help clients move from broad uncertainty to disciplined strategic choices, identifying the forces that could materially change an outcome, clarifying what different futures would mean for the business, and supporting decisions that hold up as that uncertainty resolves.
