WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a Consultant, Cloud, your key responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:
- Advise clients on the overall enterprise architecture landscape on various solution architecture areas including technology, information, data, security, and integration.
- Implement and architect large scale, innovative IT solutions to drive business transformation.
- Evaluate and identify IT-related risks, including compliance, operations, revenue, and growth risks.
- Engage as a trusted advisor across technology topics and the software lifecycle, articulating ROI, risk, and value.
- Develop, as part of a team, technology strategy and planning deliverables to address IT risks and improve effectiveness of the IT organization, specifically focusing on business application integration.
- Produce target state solution architectures, perform architectural assessment and gap analysis and help formulate the overall solution strategy and roadmap.
- Write technical designs and documentation; provide guidance and training to clients.
- Collaborate with clients and Slalom consultants to translate business requirements into technical requirements.
- Define activities, work products, staffing plans, cost estimations, and schedules required for migration/modernization consultation in proposals and SOWs.
- Contributes to delivery via billable roles as Delivery Solution Lead and/or in SME roles within market’s portfolio, with specific utilization target defined by level.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Strong ability to share ideas and communicate with peers and clients.
- Ability to lead solutioning during proposal phases or offering development.
- Fluency in the development and use of solution architecture frameworks, patterns, and best practices to drive business transformation. Familiarity and exposure to Enterprise Architecture frameworks and methodologies.
- Experience in analyzing business and technology requirements to design and build scalable enterprise application architectures. Ability to explain principles of application architecture to clients using value-based frameworks.
- Experience with client or stakeholder negotiations and presentations.
- Bring strong experience in software engineering and DevOps, particularly in production environments using AWS.
- Design and implement end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for application delivery.
- Apply expertise in configuration management and infrastructure as code, using tools such as:
- Chef, Puppet, Ansible
- Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM
- Contribute to security-focused engineering practices, including:
- Identity and access management
- Firewall configuration
- Fundamental cloud security principles
- Knowledge of application development practices including Agile and SAFe, systems development lifecycle, GitOps, and implementation of software products.
- Demonstrate a growth mindset and eagerness to learn current technologies quickly
- Use acquired knowledge to solve practical business problems for customers
- Demonstrable experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Passion for learning and a proactive approach; able to identify gaps, suggest improvements, and self-manage responsibilities.
- Willingness to be a part of high-performing team in a diverse environment, and ability to thrive in ambiguity.
- Multiple years of experience in application architecture, development, or modernization.
Nice to Have:
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
- Expertise in two major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Hands-on experience with migration tooling (e.g., AWS MGN, Cloudamize).
- Hands-on experience delivering migration or modernization projects.
