Join the Cardiac Cath Unit at St John of God Geelong Hospital as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager on Permanent Part-Time position, working 28.5 hours per week.
As a valued member of the team, you will contribute to the effective clinical management of the Cardiac Cath Unit and provide high-quality, comprehensive patient care. You will also support and supervise junior staff, promote safe and effective clinical practice, and deputise for and assist the Nursing Unit Manager as required.
The Cath Lab is a dynamic and vibrant department, providing a diverse range of procedures across cardiac, vascular and interventional services. Procedures include:
- Coronary angiography and intervention
- Cardiac pacing
- Minor structural heart interventions
- Electrophysiology procedures
- Vascular procedures
- Interventional radiology
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative specialist team and contribute to the delivery of secure, patient-centred care across a diverse range of procedures.
The Position
- Assists the Nursing Unit Manager in collection of audits, statistics, staff performance management and productivity analysis data.
- Monitors staff levels against budget/target levels related to number of bed days, occupancy and patient acuity.
Adjusts staffing levels in consultation with the Unit Manager and/or Coordinator according to changes in levels.
- Assists the Nursing Unit Manager in identifying resource needs and developing budgets and operational plans.
- Discusses any concerns regarding patients and staff with Nursing Unit Manager/Coordinator grievances, difficulties etc.
- Responsible for assisting the Nurse Unit Manager in following issues pertaining to human resources within the department and will assume full responsibility in the absence of the Nurse Unit Manager.
- Demonstrates knowledge of/and functions in accordance with legislation and common law affecting nursing practice and acknowledges accountability/responsibility for own actions.
You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and have well developed analytical and problem-solving skills and knowledge of acts and legislation that impact on the practice of nursing. With demonstrated ability to develop and build effective nursing, medical and interdisciplinary relationships and teams. To succeed you will have delegation, planning, organisational and motivational skills, be committed to on-going education and self-directed learning, and effectively communicate and educate patients, family and staff.

We can offer you
- Salary: $120,835 - $124,903 per annum (pro rata basis for part time) plus 12% superannuation
- Permanent part-time position working 28.5 hrs per week.
