GRACosway is looking for an Associate to join our Sydney office, working on a mix of political, policy and regulatory issues as part of our national Public Affairs practice. This full-time role would suit someone in the early stages of their career and offers plenty of variety and room to grow.

GRACosway is proud to be Australia’s leading public affairs and corporate, financial communications firm. We work with an exceptional roster of clients, providing strategic advice on public policy and regulation, government engagement and parliamentary and public inquiries.

About the role

As an Associate, you will work with colleagues across the team to support GRACosway’s clients. A typical day may involve:

- Attending client meetings and providing support with drafting materials.
- Preparing briefing materials on political and policy developments.
- Conducting detailed research on a specific policy issue.
- Monitoring developments in parliament and media and providing updates to clients.
- Contributing to external publications, including the weekly Wrap Up.

About you

GRACosway’s Associates come from different professional backgrounds and offer a mix of skills and strengths. Our ideal candidate for this role will have:

- Tertiary qualifications in politics, business, communications, law or a related discipline.

- An interest in the world around them - politics, public policy, news and current affairs.
- Strong communication, research, writing and presentation skills.
- Sound time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks and anticipate the needs of colleagues and clients.

You have a robust client service ethic, are curious and self-motivated. You’re also willing to bring your A game to lunchtime trivia and crossword sessions at the Big Table!

First and foremost, we’re looking for passionate, curious and engaged people. Prior experience in government, advocacy roles, industry bodies or consulting is welcome but not essential.

How to apply

Please send your CV and a cover letter outlining what you'll bring to the role to [email protected]. For further information, please contact Sharon Reid, Director of Practice Management at [email protected]
