Your impact

Jacobs is seeking an Associate Water Resources Engineer to join our waterways engineering team.

Based in Melbourne, the purpose of this role is to lead a range of waterways engineering projects such as fishways, flood mitigation and regulating structures. You will be skilled in civil design and project management, and are able to work collaboratively with other disciplines on projects throughout the ANZ region.

Reporting to the Water Resources Section Leader for ANZ, you will be expected to undertake Project Management and Design Management in accordance with Jacobs and industry best practices to achieve successful technical and commercial outcomes.

You will be required to lead design tasks, whilst finding on-the-job opportunities to provide informal mentoring, advising and supporting of junior staff in the areas of civil design and project management.

About You

You will have strong technical knowledge and proven experience in civil design, specifically applied to waterways. You will have extensive knowledge of relevant Australian legislation, standards and guidelines.

You will support the Water Resources Section Leader and the Director of Operations – Water, to develop and enhance capabilities to broaden areas of business.

You will have specialist knowledge in water resources engineering.

You will have strong market knowledge, client relationships, and demonstrated ability to bid, win, and deliver water resources projects.

Here's what you'll need

You will demonstrate the ability to

- Undertaking and leading civil/waterways engineering design work, including the supervision of small teams to deliver projects.
- Completing office-based civil design using a variety of software packages.
- Providing specialist engineering design support to other technical disciplines within Jacobs, including for infrastructure projects.
- Preparation of proposals and bid documents.
- Teaching, coaching and mentoring juniors Liaison with clients, stakeholders and regulators.
- Collaboration with Jacobs colleagues and GID teams across the globe.
- Presenting information to stakeholders in meetings in a concise and effective manner.
- Authoring complex assessments / reports. Report checking and review. #DMC-1
