With opportunities available for both new apprentices and those looking to continue their apprenticeship, this is your chance to gain hands-on experience in a professional automotive workshop, learn from qualified technicians and work towards becoming a fully qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic.

You'll complete your AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology while earning a wage and developing the practical skills employers are looking for.

What You'll Learn

Depending on your apprenticeship year and current experience, you'll develop hands-on skills in:
- Vehicle servicing and scheduled maintenance.
- Mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis.
- Using modern diagnostic equipment and workshop technology.
- Brake, steering and suspension repairs.
- Engine and mechanical component repairs.
- Removing and replacing worn or damaged components.
- Vehicle inspections, testing and safety checks.
- Reading and following manufacturer specifications and repair procedures.
- Safe and correct use of hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
- Maintaining professional workshop and safety standards.

As your apprenticeship progresses, you'll take on more complex work and greater responsibility while continuing to learn under the supervision of qualified technicians.

You'll ideally have

- A genuine passion for cars and the automotive industry.
- A hands-on, mechanically minded approach.
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Good attention to detail.
- The ability to listen, take direction and apply feedback.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a workshop team.
- A current driver's licence (P1 or above preferred).

Your previous apprenticeship experience and completed training can be recognised, allowing you to continue progressing towards your AUR30620 qualification.
