Start Your Automotive Career in a Specialist Workshop

Love cars, enjoy hands-on mechanical work and want to develop skills beyond basic vehicle servicing? Apprenticeships Are Us is seeking a motivated 1st Year Automotive Underbody Apprentice to join one of our host employers in Chipping Norton, NSW.

This is an opportunity to train in a specialist automotive workshop with a strong focus on automatic transmissions and drivetrain systems, working alongside experienced technicians while completing your AUR31120 Certificate III in Automotive Underbody Technology.

You'll gain practical experience working on real vehicles while developing valuable mechanical, diagnostic and underbody repair skills.

No previous automotive experience is required. If you're mechanically minded, reliable and ready to learn a trade, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

Working alongside qualified and experienced technicians, you'll develop hands-on skills in:
- Assisting with the inspection, servicing and repair of automatic transmissions and drivetrain components.
- Removing and refitting transmissions and associated components.
- Inspecting and identifying worn or damaged mechanical components.
- Servicing and repairing vehicle underbody systems.
- Diagnosing mechanical and driveline faults.
- Inspecting and repairing suspension, steering and braking systems.
- Using specialised workshop tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Carrying out vehicle inspections and safety checks.
- Following manufacturer specifications and repair procedures.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop setting.

As your skills and confidence develop,



you'll have the opportunity to take on more complex mechanical and diagnostic work under the supervision of experienced technicians.

About You

We're looking for someone who is genuinely interested in automotive mechanics and how vehicle systems work. To be successful, you'll have:

- A genuine passion for cars and mechanical work.
- An interest in transmissions, driveline systems and automotive mechanics.
- A hands-on and mechanically minded approach.
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- A reliable and professional attitude.
- The ability to take direction and work effectively as part of a team.
- A current driver's licence (P1 or above preferred).

No experience? No problem. Previous automotive experience or a Certificate II is not required. We're looking for someone with the right attitude, reliability and commitment to learning the trade.
