Voluntary, Part-time Appointment The BelRose Group has been exclusively engaged by Saltbush Social Enterprises to recruit new Non-Executive Directors to its governing Board.

Saltbush is an Aboriginal-led not-for-profit organisation delivering employment, training and support services across the Northern Territory. Operating from bases in Darwin, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and Elliott, the organisation is committed to creating opportunities through employment, training and support, empowering people to shape their own futures.

Saltbush’s diverse programs include employment support for Aboriginal jobseekers including the Indigenous Skills and Employment Program (ISEP), wellbeing and mental health support services, vocational education and training, the SEE First Nations Program, reintegration support through the REAL Program and school nutrition initiatives.

As a Board Director, you will contribute to the strategic direction, governance and long-term sustainability of an organisation that actively addresses social inequities. The Board plays a hands-on role in advocacy, representation and decision-making, and helps ensure the integrity of Saltbush’s operations and impact.

Key responsibilities

- Attend and actively contribute to Board meetings held at least six times a year
- Support governance, compliance and risk management processes
- Provide strategic oversight of programs and organisational priorities
- Share your knowledge, networks and qualified expertise to support Saltbush’s continued growth and impact




- Promote Saltbush’s mission and values in the broader community
- Participate in Board communications and decisions between meetings
- Represent Saltbush at events and through social media where appropriate

Ideal profile

- Passionate about Aboriginal-led solutions and social justice
- Brings professional or lived experience relevant to Saltbush’s work
- Familiar with Board responsibilities or interested in developing governance skills
- Willing to commit time, insights and energy to Saltbush’s continued success
- A clear communicator who values respectful collaboration
- Experience in sectors such as community services, mental health, training, employment, or youth work is highly regarded
- Applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, younger leaders and individuals with lived experience are strongly encouraged

Saltbush is committed to maintaining a majority Aboriginal Board and welcomes expressions of interest from both established and emerging leaders. While this is a voluntary role, Directors benefit from structured induction, skill development and meaningful opportunities to influence real change in communities across the Territory.
