Te Haeata/The Opportunity

It is an exciting time to join Process Design for a two-year fixed term within the Te Au Reka programme. The team is responsible for developing the processes required to ensure Te Au Reka meets the operational needs of courts and tribunals now and into the future.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our Process Design team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring business needs are clearly understood, documented, and translated into high-quality requirements and user stories that support successful process improvement and technology delivery initiatives.

You will be working closely with Process Architecture, Design, Analysis and delivery teams.



You will be responsible for capturing, analysing, and managing business requirements, ensuring that user stories accurately reflect business outcomes and are ready for development and implementation.

As a Business Analyst, You Will

Translate business requirements into clear, concise, and actionable user stories.

- Develop detailed acceptance criteria that support successful delivery and testing.
- Maintain and refine the product backlog in collaboration with Product Owners and delivery teams.
- Ensure user stories are appropriately prioritised, well-defined, and ready for build.
- Analyse and document current and future-state business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assess the impact of proposed changes and supporting the evaluation of solution options for ensuring business needs are met.

This role will suit someone who thrives in large scale transformation programmes, enjoys solving complex business problems, and values meaningful stakeholder engagement. You'll be comfortable working in ambiguity, influencing across diverse groups, and balancing strategic thinking with practical delivery. Ō Pūkenga/Skills And Experience To be successful in the role, you will have:

- A tertiary degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, along with relevant industry or business analysis certifications.
- Strong experience eliciting, analysing, documenting and managing business
- Experience and confidence in representing business views with a vendor
- requirements,



particularly within Agile delivery environments.
- Excellent communication skills
- Effective relationship management including leading business requirements conversations
- Experience in the delivery of digital solutions using a range of project lifecycle methodologies

A sound understanding of the machinery of government and experience in Te Reo Māori would be advantageous.

Utu ā-tau/Salary The appointing salary for this role is between $105,226 – $135,540 (ICT 4) based on skills and experience
